About “Amerikana”

The exhibition includes around twenty photos that were taken during the author’s journey through the US between 2002 and 2008, which in the author’s opinion present America, its pop culture, spirit and historical events. In Petar’s opinion they represent the US in an appropriate way.
These are just some of the photo titles: Elvis’s Grave, Memphis; Elvis’s House in Hometown Tupelo; Hollywood, LA; Statue dedicated to Nathan Forest, the founder of Klan in Memphis; "Country Music Hall of Fame Nashville"; The Lorraine Motel where Martin Luther King was murdered, Memphis; Ground Zero, Madison Square Garden, NYC; MGM Hotel, Las Vegas; Indian reservation camp, California; Russian Square in Brooklyn, NYC; San Jose, Silicon Valley; Verona, Mississippi; Mecca, California;

Petar Ilic (1965) is a TV director and multimedia artist from Belgrade, and probably the best expert on the life of Elvis Presley in the former Yugoslav countries. He did numerous documentaries, TV shows and reportages in Serbia and abroad. They are presented as a combination of photos and video frames. Always open to experimentation and new technology. He is the author of numerous video works.
