Bojan Radojcic: "The Boy Who Drowned in Tears"
"The Boy Who Drowned in Tears" is a large format drawing done on the pages of a book. It was inspired by a short story from the play Faust is dead by Mark Ravenhill which talks about a boy who was so disappointed by the world we live in that he cried about it every night before going to bed.
One night his mother asked him why he’s crying, and he explained. The child’s mother told him that the world will get better. From that night on he continued crying, but in a special way – so that his mother would never again hear him.
The exhibition is a continuation of this story, where the author gave himself the freedom to depict the end of this battle in which an individual, in this case the boy, wanting to protect his surrounding, sacrifices himself.
